I watched the Italian NoShame DVD late this evening. Really good police procedural/murder mystery/action movie with strong direction from Martino. It wasn't too terribly difficult following along with the Italian subs although a couple parts were lost on me and about an hour in the subs became out of sync for about 10 minutes. Top class movie although more demanding fans seeking violent thrills might be put off by this one.

I like very much this movie, it was also one of the first crime movies I watched on tv when I was child...
italian critics says about this movie that is ridicolous, 30 years ago as today, I don't agree in any way
Martino was probably the greatest director taking events from reality and mixing them in a story, and La polizia accusa is probably the best movie about 70's secret service deviance, underground fascist golpe and so on
Seems that this movie had a great success in USSR, unfortunately AYP dvd is bad :)

There's also an English fandub of the Italian NoShame disc,as Polla said the image isn't great but it's a superb crime/political thriller and along with MILANO TREMA my favorite by Martino.
Btw has anyone managed to subtitle the 2 interesting documentaries on the NoShame dvd?
-
Funny you should mention subtitling the docs as there's a nice 24 minute interview with Dardano Sacchetti on the MARK IL POLIZIOTTO DVD that looks really interesting. Maybe DjangoLi would be up for doing a few of them?
-
I have seen this (the noshame fandub) I can't for the life of me remember it though. I just ran off a copy for a friend so I might revisit it.
My memory worries me sometimes :(

This happens to be one of my favorite Euro police thrillers. I think everything here works in this one. Much better than THE VIOLENT PROFESSIONALS, which also isn't bad. It's also one of Merenda's best roles IMO.
-
Yeah i liked Merenda in this as well plus Antonio Casale as the assassin/kidnapper,another very brutal character like the one he played in MILANO TREMA as the escaped prisoner alongside Luciano Rossi.

Hey guys,
Just thoughts I'd drop in and let you all know that these hallowed boards get a shout out on Mike Malloy's audio commentary for Silent Action. :)

Thanks for the heads-up, Philleh. :P
I'm really looking forward to this release. It's great to have one more label releasing genre efforts. ::)
Did you work on this release, or did you get a review copy?
Any details you can share about it (the quality of the transfer/special features, ...)? :D

Fractured Visions has recently released a promotional trailer for their upcoming BD release of Silent Action, showcasing some of the special features included:

On a side note, tomorrow (February 12th) the label will announce the next title to be released, apparently an Umberto Lenzi film.

Got the Blu-ray yesterday and so far have checked out the commentary track from Mike. Very good indeed, image quality for the main feature is decent. Not incredible but very good compared to what's been previously available.

Yes agreed mate; some of the comments about the quality of the transfer are ridiculous: Like you say, better than any previously released version and nice to get a shout out from Mike, as well as your good self, on his commentary ;) :)

For those who ordered this release directly from Fractured Visions, may I ask: what kind of packaging do they use (cardboard packaging like Eureka, those thin padded envelopes like Zavvi, ...)?
I tried to reach out to them several times to ask about this (email, social media, ...), but I didn't get a reply.
Sorry to "vent" a bit, but post-Brexit it's majorly annoying to buy anything from the UK.
Amazon.co.uk still does not ship this release outside of the UK. So basically, for this title I can either try Zavvi (who always finds a way to destroy my packages), or I can try to order directly from the label (despite they charging almost £10 in shipping, and charging me UK VAT, which they shouldn't, since I'm supposed to pay local VAT at arrival of the package).
And just like that, a single release ends up costing me more than 50€ (£24.99 for the item, £9.00 for the shipping, plus local customs/VAT (23%), which also includes a customs presentation charge of €12).
At least I hope they provide decent packaging, since paying all this for a damaged item would be a bit much. ???

Thanks for your reply, Marc. ;)
But, I meant shipping packaging (those card "wraparounds" that Eureka uses, padded envelopes, ...)?
Lately I've been having a hard time getting items in one piece when some cardboard packaging isn't used (broken cases, loose discs, ...). That's why despite not being a big fan of Amazon, I usually use them for BDs (but they don't ship this release outside of the UK).
thanks

If you are in EU, it is very strange that you can not order this release from Amazon UK. I am in a country outside EU but still can order the disc without VAT (GBP 17.79 + GBP 3.58 P&P + EUR 1.00 custom clearance).

Amazon.co.uk has been like this since brexit.
I can't pre-order a goddamned thing from them. I see the items as pre-orderable, but as soon as I log-in, and set a EU address, it's listed as not available.
For most titles, a few days after they are released they are "orderable", but many others (like this one) still aren't.
To give you an idea, please check the link below:

There's 2 screenshots there.
The first one is when I have a delivery address inside the EU (it can be mine, in Portugal, or my brother's in France). It says the title is not available, "temporarily out of stock" (it has been like this since it first appeared on the store, even before it launched).
The second screenshot is if I add a UK postal code. As you can see, the item is orderable that way.
Sadly, if I add it to the card, and proceed to check out, when I select a EU address I get a message saying the item can't be delivered there, and that I need to select another address.

This is my case :)
