Title: Il commissario Pepe (Ettore Scola, 1968)
Post by: Stephen Grimes on 01 Jul 2008 - 18:59
Early crime drama with a touch of comedy starring Ugo Tognazzi in the title role investigating the local prostitutes and bigwigs who use them, also stars the late great Tano Cimarosa and an almost unrecognisable Rita Calderoni.Recently got a decent looking copy from a Rai Sat broadcast but there's apparently a French dvd out there, anyone seen it?

Cool score! I looked it up and it's by Armando Trovaioli who's always great!

Is their a CD of with any of this film's music on it?

Haven't seen the film, but the soundtrack is one of my Trovaioli faves. I'm not sure if it's OOP or not, but there's a Japanese papersleeve CD with 18 tracks on it. 8 more than the Italian CD. Either way, I know somebody that might be able to help you out Jonny & Stephen  :D

Ordered the French disc today on Pvb Editions which includes the Italian dub w/French subs, fingers crossed it'll be a decent upgrade from the Italian tv broadcast on RaiSat.
