Title: Keoma (Enzo G. Castellari, 1976)
Post by: Inspector Tanzi on 21 May 2012 - 17:31
I thought there was a thread for this but can't seem to find it.

Here's some screenshots of the Keoma Blu Ray that someone posted over at the SWDB.

Do you think they'll use the Blu-ray for the Cine-Excess show?

I've been told all the screenings are either from 'digital sources' or digi-beta...

No idea, but it's a piss take charging £7 a pop to see it from a disc you can get for £6 delivered!

I'd prefer to watch it from some old reels.

It's slightly annoying isn't it?

I think they screened DJANGO from the UK DVD last year and A QUIET DAY IN THE COUNTRY was definitely from DVD and was projected on to a screen at the Italian Cultural Institute.

I have read nothing but positive things about the Mill Creek Blu-Ray release and you can get it for £6 delivered from Planet Axel if you order before their free shipping offer ends at the end of May.

It's been said it's good but no one has posted any pics yet. Mine hasn't arrived yet so can't take a look. (I can't post grab Blu Ray pics from it though)

Posters over at Blu-Ray.com have raved about the picture quality of The Grand Duel. I'm sure someone will find something to moan about though.  Looks to be a bargain for both films and I've never seen either so looking forward to checking them out.

Photobucket is down at the moment so I couldn't copy them but there are some here (http://www.spaghetti-western.net/forum/index.php/topic,741.400/topicseen.html).  :D

This is en route to me at the moment too. I preordered it for $9.99 from Amazon thinking it might be a pricing error, but now it's $5.99!

Never seen The Grand Duel and highly rate Keoma so looking forward to it. Quite surprised by how good the AV is supposed to be too.

This arrived today. Just had a quick look at both films and they look great to my eyes watching on a 37" LCD. Proper hi-def transfers.

The disc is region A.

Get a multi region machine  :D

If you're a film fan there's not really an excuse. I get told that a lot of the cunts over at cult labs often start crying about things being region locked.

...for that reason alone I prefer U.S. discs to be region encoded  :-\

When i purchased my player about 16months ago i could not afford one,and still cant to be honest, and i really couldnt justify buying a new one when that one is still working fine. To be honest its probably a good thing as im trying to curb my spending. Who says that dvd/blu ray is fading out. I still cant keep up with releases and i spend a fortune

Price is now £5.52 delivered - but it says "Unavailable for purchase at this time". Fucksticks.

That's because they're got 15% off this weekend. I'd order it now to get it at the cheaper price and wait for them to get more, mate.

I cannot believe how cheap this double bill is. It's currently available new from Amazon Marketplace sellers for just £2.25, so £3.50 including shipping - HERE (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spaghetti-Western-Double-Feature-Blu-ray/dp/B007NYZ9YI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1338627107&sr=8-2)

How the distributor is making any money from this, I don't know.

One of the releases of the year for me so far.

I watched the Mill Creek double feature last night, and I was blown away!  I was expecting it to look like shit, but it looks great, especially The Grand Duel.  Keoma looks good, but it has that weird "grain" appearance like a lot of the Blue Underground Italian Blu-Rays.  Still, it looks sharper and way more detailed than the old Anchor Bay DVD.

I got my copy of this along with the other double feature (The Last Gun/4 Dollars of Revenge) for just under $4 each.  I can't believe how cheap these are!

Picked this up for £3.49 the other day, watching it now and it's pretty decent really. I've paid more for Blu-rays with way shitter transfers.

Anyone notice audio sync issues with The Grand Duel? I bought this and watched it a few years ago and didn't notice any problems. Some of the Amazon reviews mention it.

Big time. Ruined the film really. Might give it another spin soon though as I've got a different player now.
