Watch this space...

"I've some extremely distressing news"

"I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear anything! Oh God, it's a nightmare, I tell you, it's a nightmare"

Anyone like this film on here? For me, personally, it's my favorite film. Given a choice if I had a gun to my head and I had to make a choice... This film would be the one. I don't mind if anyone disagrees with me, I'll never change my mind. I'd love to hear anyone else's thought's on it though and I won't ban you if you disagree with me  :P

I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks of this film though.

What makes you think that?

No, the answer is really quite simple

I love WITHNAIL AND I - it's really funny and one that gets better the more you watch it. I fisrst discovered it when a mate recommended it when we were in high school - was about 15. We used to quote the dialogue all the time...

I have the special edition that Anchor Bay released last year - there are ome really nice goodies included in that set. An essential purchase for WITHNAIL fans.

I do! I managed to annoy some guy on DVD maniacs. So much so that I said sorry to him via PM and I can't remember doing so!

I just read my PM's and the guy is telling me that it's not a problem... I don't remember any of it.

Where's my Bava book!

After reading Jonny's last post, I've come to the conclusion that he was flaming with Tim Lucas  :-\

Fuck no! It wasn't with Tim! Just a regular member. I must start thinking it through before hitting the 'send' button...

One of the finest screenplays ever written IMO. And filmed near me to boot, funny as fuck as well as tragic. It made a great impression on me when I was 15 and still does. I really like Robinson's Jennifer 8 and How To Get Ahead In advertising as well, looking forward to his RUM DIARY based on the late great Hunter S Thompsons novel and starring Johnny Depp. " Get In the back of the van!"  :-\

I finally caught this on TCM the other night, I'm sad that it took me this long to see it but...Goddamn! That's a good movie!

I've probably seen this more times than any other film. Has to be one of the most perfectly crafted tragic comedy scripts ever. Richard E Grant should have retired straight after shooting finished - I can't stand him in anything else but he is incredible as Withnail. I used to live next to the Mother Black Cap pub in Westbourne Park - it was very different by then but they still advertised it as the Withnail and I pub.
"Perfumed ponce!"

Can't stand Richard E. Grant in anythign else? I suppose he's an acquired taste. Then again, I happen to think Hudson Hawk is a massively under-appreciated film  :-\
