to me EUGENIE (DE SADE as it used to be known as...) is one of the very best Franco-films, brilliant on all levels and with Paul Müller in one of his best performances ever. Highly recommended for those who haven´t seen it! It is a bit in style with SINNER, hope that one will get a dvd release as well sometime, so that more people get to see it and hopefully the notion of Jess Franco as only a cheap trash-director with a love for the zoomlens finally could be put out of date. (Sure he is that as well, and that´s why i love him!)
I agree on all counts.

This is one of the Franco films that I show to 'initiates' into the Franco canon. It's a genuinely beautiful film, with a very strong narrative. Oracle's DVD was fine, a worthy upgrade from the Wild East DVD (which I've kept due to the bonus materials), but I'm very much looking forward to watching this new release from BU.

April 29:

Beast In Space, The: Unrated Version

“MIND-BOGGLING!”
MISE-EN-SCÈNE CRYPT
The Complete Unrated Director’s Cut For The First Time Ever In America!

In 1975, European sex symbol Sirpa Lane shocked the world with her performance as a maiden defiled by a ferociously aroused animal in the erotic classic THE BEAST. Five years later, the beautiful-but-doomed actress would plummet from arthouse to grindhouse in this insanely unofficial outer space ‘sequel’ packed with rampant sex, cheezy effects, barnyard passions and yet another graphic ravaging by a hugely-endowed man-beast. Marina Hedman (SATAN’S BABY DOLL) and Venantino Venantini (BLACK EMANUELLE) co-star in this jaw-dropping intergalactic epic that combines the immortal ‘80s Italian genres of sleazy sci-fi and depraved sexual saga, now fully restored from the original film lab negative purchased at a Rome bankruptcy auction.

Forthcoming releases from Severin Films May 20:

Before MAD MAX There Was STONE
It triggered Australia’s exploitation explosion, sparked a worldwide censorship battle, and remains one of the most infamous biker movies in genre history. STONE is the full-throttle saga of an undercover cop (Ken Shorter) who infiltrates the outlaw Grave Diggers (led by producer/director/co-writer Sandy Harbutt) on a one-way trip to hell with vengeance in their hearts, violence on their minds, and 150 horsepower of screaming steel between their legs. Helen Morse (PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK), Bill Hunter (THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT), members of the Sydney Hells Angels, and Hugh Keays-Byrne, Roger Ward, Vincent Gil and Reg Evans of MAD MAX fame co-star in the ultimate down-under cult classic, now fully restored from original vault elements.

“Whatever THE DIRTY DOZEN did,” screamed the ads, “they do it dirtier!” INGLORIOUS BASTARDS is more than just the inspiration for Quentin Tarantino’s long-rumored next movie; this 1978 international smash remains perhaps the biggest and most badass war movie in EuroCult history! Exploitation legends Fred ‘The Hammer’ Williamson and Bo (WALKING TALL, KILL BILL) Svenson star as the leaders of a gang of condemned criminals who escape from an Allied prison camp with a plan to blast their way to the Swiss border, only to find themselves ‘volunteering’ for a suicide mission deep inside Nazi occupied France. Academy Award® nominee Ian Bannen (FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, BRAVEHEART) co-stars in this explosive action epic from director Enzo Castellari (STREET LAW, THE BIG RACKET), now fully restored from original vault elements for the first time ever in America!

Never understood what's the big deal with INGLORIOUS BASTARDS... It will be the only Euro-cult film along with SUSPIRIA and THE BEAST that gets the 3-disc treatment! Is it so great?? Or is it just because Tarantino is supposed to remake it?

Surprised to see them releasing these 2,thought they were strictly European erotica/horror.Still nice to have a bit of variation though i won't be bothering with STONE,saw this via the VTC pre-cert and whilst it's well made it ain't my really my thing.
Btw how many releases of THE INGLORIOUS BASTARDS are there now?

I might be wrong but this must be the fifth DVD release of Inglorious Bastards... It's a great film and all but three discs? I'll be interested to see what kind of extras warrant such lavish treatment.

I presume that Inglorious is one of those titles that will sell more copies than anything else on their list, so good on them for getting the release licence.

Although they perhaps should have plugging Tarantino on the cover to triple sales! Perhaps they could add a peel-off sticker to the cover so avoid offending everyone else who thinks Tarantino is over-rated garbage...

Well one of the 3 discs will be the soundtrack - which has been released before, by Dagored (perhaps this will be a longer release, the Dagored is only 37 minutes long). I like this film but I think I`ll stick with the Koch disc.

Why isn't BEAST IN SPACE mentioned on their website any more in the "Coming Soon" or "Future" sections?  I already have the Japanese DVD of INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, but I'll probably buy this and STONE anyway.
