Killer's Moon (Alan Birkinshaw, 1978)
« on: 29 Oct 2007 - 20:58 »

A group of Mental patients escape from hospital and go on a rampage of rape and murder, the thing is, is that they all think they are high/dreaming and the crimes they are committing are only make believe!

A long time unreleased classic looks like it's coming out next year on DVD via Image... The only release so far was via the Inter-Ocean VHS in the UK...

It's a very bad film but in a great way!  ::) The acting, directing, screenplay, lighting, sets, you get the picture are inept, but it's a fucking fun film! If you don't laugh at the three legged dog you ain't alive!  :-\ Would love to find some of the locations as at least part of it looks like it was filmed in my home county where it's meant to be set, we don't have painted moons on black cardboard at night around here though  ::)

They're going through Rykodisc now. I was trying to trick Jonny by being pedantic.

It's a pity they don't do poster art like that anymore. Imagine that outside your local cinema!

That's why I never bothered replying first time round. Pedant. Hehehe...

That poster is really cool, I've been looking out for one for bloody ages. No doubt Marc has one too.

Where's that mate?

Cumbria, or the Lake District, near sellafield mate  ::) As well as most Ken Russel film's they shot at least a road sign up here for Living Dead At Manchester Morgue, which is also meant to be set up here. Pretty sure with that one though that most of it was shot in the peak district.
Talking of Killers Moon though theirs the most un P.C line which had me agast it goes something like this... " Don't worry it was only rape, we'll keep it between us and you'll get married and live a normal life" I'm ad libbing there but you get the flavour.  :-X Then again fuck P.C  ::)

Got a nice complete big box carton VHS of 'Killer's Moon' today, slightly rough around the edges but it's intact and hasn't been taken apart...
