Nice one!  :'(

You going to frame it? I found a shop in the next town that sells massive clip frames, bigger than any I've seen before. I'm going back over the weekend with some measurements as I'm sure they'll fit a quad. Under £20 too.

That's really cool mate, and yes, I'd like to frame it. If you find one that does measure the correct size, I'll definitely be interested in finding one.

Just received the cinema brochure for the film's American release. It's pretty good-looking stuff and includes credits as well as interesting and informative biographies on Gian Maria Volonté, Florinda Bolkan and Elio Petri.

My UK quad poster arrived last weekend - I stuck it in a frame and it looks ace.

Watched this tonight courtesy of Jonny's great fan dub. Hadn't seen it in over 10 years. I knew it was good but had forgotten just how good. What a potent mix of politics, sex and violence. Seems as relevant today, in Italy's Berlusconi era, as it must have done when it was first released. After seeing A Quiet Place In The Country just the other week, I found a lot in common: the complex and abusive relationship; the systematic decline into madness; and the red paint! Elements – in particular Volonte revisiting the crime scene – reminded me in a strange way of Bad Lieutenant. Fantastic open ending.

Great, isn't it? Seriously good flick and no wonder it won the Oscar for best foreign language film. It's brilliantly played by Volonte; his performance in the lynch pin that the whole films rests. Petri's direction is great (as always - need to see more of his work. Only seen QUIET PLACE and 10THE VICTIM). I would go as far as to say that this is in my top five favourite Italian films. Period.

Gianmaria Volontè was a great actor, the perfect actor for politics genre, also he had a great voice

his choice was to make only this genre of movies, it's difficult to say if it was a right choice, he could say much more also in other genres

however I think that Indagine su un cittadino gave a lot of influence in crime genre

Me too. I've only seen this, The 10th Victim and A Quiet Place In The Country. Can anyone suggest other highly-recommended Petri films? I think I read elsewhere here that A Ciascuno Il Suo ('We Still Kill The Old Way', 1967) is worth checking out...
