Does anyone know what the European DVD releases are like? Wasn't there a recent release from Sweden that was decent?

Jonny, the screenshots I provided on the previous pages are taken from the Swedish Another World Entertainment release.  The picture quality is good but there are subtitles provided for the scenes that are not in English.

Have any Italian speakers listened to the commentary on the the Alan Young Pictures disc?  Any interesting bullet points?

Well I have no other version of this film to compare with, but I just watched the AWE disc and I was very pleased with the audio quality.

Having owned all dvd versions of the film, not one could be called definitive. The best version on dvd is the Spanish release on FILMAX. The woodland scene is the brightly lit version, which I prefer to the day for night shots on most versions of the film released, and as I'm half Italian, the language problem does not exist.

Blue Underground is releasing the film: http://www.blue-underground.com/product.php?product=174

It could be a port of the Anchor Bay disc as with other BU reissues but I thought I read that a new transfer had been done and NoShame was going to release it before they went out of business.  The specs on the BU page don't really help.  They list the English and Italian tracks which the AB disc had and English subtitles (although that could just be the subs for the Italian only scenes).  The description suggests it's "fully restored from the original negative materials" but didn't Anchor Bay's disc also claim that?

I'd guess as usual the BU disc will be a straight port of the older AB disc.  There's only a couple of instances where they've done a whole new transfer (DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS and MANCHESTER MORGUE), the rest are just reissues.  I'm not expecting anything different here, though both TORSO and 10TH VICTIM now have cooler covers.

Yeah. It's really cool.

I'll get it. My German NSM DVD edition has such an ugly cover!
