If BU were going to put it out they would have done it years ago.

They don't have the rights. Dorado do.

I made a note of an apparent confirmation BU would be doing it some years back. mind you, I've never known quite how to absolutely confirm who owns the rights to any licensee, so ...

Dorado claim to own the rights for a lot of stuff, but Studio Canal have the negatives and also claim to own the rights.

i'm a bit more confident about mentioned of BU doing this than dorado, seeing the semi-real crowdfunding site they seem to have up. it's not generated any substantial buzz that i can sense, nor has it gained any apparent definite momentum i can see, either. perhaps a FilmArt release in europe will make things move on the US release front - i don't mind either, as long as it's worth the money, but i'd go for a BU disc as it should be a better price than a FilmArt one.

Just got back in town to find that High Crime and The Family are playing in 35mm at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre tonight! Any other LA area people attending?

Dorado actually has High Crime up on their Roku channel (as well as a bunch of other cool Italian films, including other Eurocrime titles), although the print is horribly cut on both sides. The AV quality is watchable, though.

It's also English dubbed, which is a real shame.

The print shown at the Egyptian last night was in remarkably good shape considering it's scarceness. The English dub wasn't bad at all and Nero does his own dubbing anyway.

Are Filmart in Germany still bringing this out on Blu ray?  It's all gone quiet on the release front for it?

It seems that High Crime is back in production.  Rights have now reverted back to Dorado Films (at least for now).  According to their Facebook page, Rick at Dorado mentioned, "Yes High Crime is slated for this year, in English, Spanish and Italian, we will post more about it this summer."  Also, answering a question about the Castellari feature audio commentary, Dorado replied, "We are working with some folks who are being of great help on extras in Europe.... stay tuned."

Blu-ray and/or DVD and release date still seems to be in question.  Personally, I'm a bit skeptical, since we've been promised this all before.  We'll have to wait and see....
