Not only that but they'll haggle you for lots of cash and take their time cutting the deal. A friend of mine has been involved in acquiring the rights to some Japanese movies for the past six months or so. He has told me it is a bit difficult to work with them. Not that they are unfriendly but that they take their time and generally want a lot of money.

I have seen a lot of Japanese prints that are superior to US and other countries releases. Some are gorgeous remasters but are missing snippets of footage because of damage.

Looks like Blue Underground may be releasing this after all, check out this Bill Lustig  interview from Twitchfilm website:
http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/blue-underground-forgotten-70s-cinema-interview-with-bill-lustig/

Quote
BLAKE: Any other Euro-crime or gialli films coming out?

LUSTIG: High Crime, the Franco Nero and Enzo G. Castellari cop movie. Finally we found the negative and plan to release it in February, but we’ll see.

Great news, I really hope this happens. Is this a change of heart from Lustig about the end of Blue Underground? Fingers-crossed.

All I've heard Lustig say as regards Blue Underground is that he's taking a a break from DVD releasing for the time being, he's not actually said "We're closing up shop" as far as I've read so far...

Fingers crossed we do get a decent release of this - the 23rd Century DVD was a cheap way to get a great, full-blooded thriller, but it would be excellent to see this get the same treatment as Street Law, The Fifth Cord, etc...

I've got a great 2.35:1 dvd but unfortunately it is in Italian only.I would have lent it someone to do a fandub with but it hardly seems worth it if the blue-underground disc is maybe over the horizon.

Italian release coming in January'08,not sure about English options but it's highly unlikely though it will have Italian subs.Same label is also releasing Castellari's BIG RACKET.

We can hope, can't we? Then again, as Optimum are releasing INGORIOUS BASTARDS and as they're owned by Canal+ (who own the rights to HIGH CRIME) so anything's possible.

yeah but they're probably releasing it with the "Tarantino" angle in mind.

I believe the Italian disc will be an improvement over the Japanese one which didn't look so great.

Obviously, that goes without saying, but if IB sells well, they may decide to release HC. There seems to be a pattern in their release strategy, as they tend to put out a lot of films by the same directors.

The pre-order page at Kultvideo says that the Italian DVD will be 1.33:1 - could of course be an error but it's a little worrying...

I absolutely love this movie, it's my preferite italian police movie...

This dvd was out in Italy for a label called Hobby & Work, they sell discs by kiosk (seller of newpapers, etc.), low price (9,90 €)

This label in the first issues has used titles and masters just out (NoShame, Cecchi Gori, etc.), after they begin to print movie never edited on dvd, no extra

but usually masters are bad.. also La polizia incrimina is a really bad master (uncorrect 4:3, low audio, dark colours, ...), I think it belongs from Mediaset channels tv master... in Italy there are other tv masters (as Sky Channel, Duel Tv) better than this, in the correct format, with good colours and audio

But I think that new issue will be as Hobby & Work  :-[
