Sette volte sette/Seven Times Seven  (1968)

Anyone seen this fabulously fun crime caper from Michele Lupo? I've watched it a few times but it's one of those titles that is rare as hell.

Only got a copy in Italian and have never got around to watching it. Was there ever an English version on home video?

I'd love to see it in English, Ray Lovelock's got a tiny role in this if I remember correctly.

  • Leonardo Tanzi is the Don!

I noticed the other day a Greek one on ebay.
Where's your one from jay because this one is apparently longer than most prints

It says this in the description:

"Rare  80's greek  UNCUT (105' instead of 92' at imdb!) VHS"

But we know imdb can't always be trusted

I've heard about there being different length edits of this film before. The Italian language copy I have is 105 minutes.

Thanks for the heads up about the Greek vid Tanzi  :D

I was gonna go for it but the cover looks a bit too worn for my liking.

It's a Lovelock film I've never seen so might as well try and pick it up if I can get it cheap enough. Never seen a copy in English before.

Likewise. But with the English language print, why not consider a fan dub?

I thought Sette volte sette was a really entertaining comedy heist movie. I loved the scenario and I loved the actors - especially Gastone Moschin. Michele Lupo must have a soft spot for England because he set several of his movies there. Has anyone noticed how after the success of Sette uomini d'oro/Seven Golden Men (Marco Vicario, 1965) there were a whole bunch of heist movies released with the word 'Seven' in the title? Vicario, incidentally, is the producer of Sette volte sette.

I have the Italian Golden release (105 mins) which is sadly full screen - I heard from an Italian collector that there was another release which was widescreen.

Well I lost out on the Greek VHS...

I'd still like to actually watch this film in English...
