Never really liked Steffen in any of his crime movies,he was ok in the great KILLERS ARE OUR GUESTS but really wooden and straightfaced in ROMA:L'ALTRA FACCIA DELLA VIOLENZA.

Without a doubt,it's up there with the best of them but because it's had no video release or English dub it's not as well known.

Joe Dallesandro should have been in the list as well. I thought he was great as a sleazy bastard in films such as SAVAGE 3 and SEASON FOR ASSASSINS, not to mention Pasquale Squitieri's THE CLIMBER.

He was also good in Aldo Lado's BORN WINNER as the motorbike bag snatcher who teams up with Massimo Raineri.

Good film though with a cool soundtrack plus it has Eleonora Giorgi and Marisa Mell.

never really liked Eleonora Giorgi but Marisa Mell was super hot and has a sex scene with Dallesandro in this film.

I just LOVE Marisa Mell! She was very sexy and classy. I don't like Joe Dallesandro, though. I think he's a weak actor and not really able to emote on the screen. He works better in sex scenes than in dialogue scenes because he has a certain sexual energy. I think he would have been better off if he stuck to doing porn...

Did Dallesandro dub any of his own Italian movies? 2 or 3 of his crime films have the usual recognisable dubbers doing his voice but SAVAGE 3(Fango Bollente) sounds like it might be him,a sorta New York accent.

Guess it depends on how dedicated he was to the project and his performance. Actors didn't get payed any extra money to dub their own lines so if they did it, they did so for the sake of their performance. Most of the old pros working abroad, such as Arthur Kennedy and Carroll Baker, almost always dubbed themselves. I'm sure they did it for the sake of their performance and because their voices were well-known to American audiences, who would notice if they were dubbed by others. But there are several examples of British or American actors working in Italian films who didn't bother to dub their own lines.

Actually, Dallesandro can barely stand to look at his own Italian movies because another voice springs from his on-screen lips. That would seem to indicate that the dubbing by another actor was against Joe's wishes...

I guess he regrets not having done his own dubbing then, but I can't imagine he would have been denied coming to the dubbing studio to re-voice his own part if he wanted to do so.
