Anyone else feel some love for Gilliam's dystopian future-set classic? I watched the flick again for the first time in eleven years last night and had a completely different take on the ending. It's such a great film with so many subtle touches thrown in It's a winner on so many levels: it has a tight script, is impeccably acted by the main players, has wonderful sets and an infectious score by Michael Kamen.

A bona fide classic, IMO.

Great film, Pryce gives a great performance in it.

Remember when we see him strolling around the museum.

Only seen it the one time via the longer cut in the Criterion DVD set. I borrowed it off a mate. Liked it a lot. Didn't knock my socks off though. I think the only Gilliam movie to really impress me has been 'Twelve Monkeys', it's an amazing film. Love it.

Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything to him him but my ex-girlfriend went over and told him that I was a fan. Felt really embarrassed.

I love 12 MONKEYS - think it's superb but I prefer BRAZIL. It's Gilliam's masterpiece, imo.

I prefer BRAZIL aswell but i've probably seen TIME BANDITS the most.

I'm the opposite.

How fucking weird is this? I was just looking for cool quotes for 'Twelve Monkeys' on Imdb and found a quote by Bruce Willis' character James Cole "All I see are dead people"

Anyone get the link?

Even stranger is that Haley Joel Osment's character in 'The 6th Sense' is called Cole Sear.

Bruce's character in '12 Monkeys' is called James Cole.

Stranger yet is that M Night Shymalan is still making films  ;D I've got the original UK quad of Brazil i'll post it up here sometime tomorrow, it's a great looking poster. Palins torturer character is one of the most disturbing characters in film IMO the scene where Pryce is in his waiting room and PAlins secretary is typing all the screams up still sends shivers down my spine.

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant film, infact, I used to be a massive gilliam fan. What I like about Gilliam is his films are gilliam-esque, they're different, and you can go through all his films (save maybe brothers grimm) and enjoy them, Jabberwocky to Tideland, so he is in my eyes a brilliant director.

I haven't seen BRAZIL, i've been wanting to because Bob Hoskins is in it, at the moment I really think THE MEANING OF LIFE is his masterpiece

Gilliam only directed the opening insurance company skit on MEANING OF LIFE, the rest was directed by Terry Jones.

Hoskins isn't in BRAZIL much at all - cameo really.
