Those clips look similar in quality to the Spanish VHS, can't really say for sure due to the YouTube compression. The first clip is missing the shots of Edwige topless though which probably means all the nudity is missing from that version.

I've been playing around with an MPEG editing suite recently and for my first project I thought I'd attempt my own composite uncut 'Top Sensation' using the English 'Seducers' print and the Spanish and Italian versions.

Basically the crunch is, doing a decent composite of this is almost impossible as I have discovered that 'The Seducers' and 'Top Sensation' have totally different scenes shot for them. Like when the Spanish would shoot alternate clothed scenes, it's the same case here.
The Spanish & Italian versions show Rosalba Neri in a red shiny g-string when her and Edwige are teasing the peeing tom - wheres the 'Seducers' print shows Rosalba Neri naked throughout the whole scene. The infamous Goat Scene is only in the dub but then the Spanish print has loads of additional dialogue scenes that the 'Seducers' print doesn't have.

Don't get me started on the 3 way lesbian scene! This has been reshot with stronger footage for 'The Seducers' print but the Spanish actually shows some nice sensual shots missing from all the others. (By the way the soundtrack is superb in the English version throughout this scene but in the Spanish some horrible cod-desert island-reggae beat is used..).

In summary the Italian print is worthless with all nudity removed (though it is a very good print), the Spanish print has the best colors and is the longest print but is a 'softer' version nudity wise. 'The Seducers' is the 'hard' version but is missing dialogue scenes and some alternate nude shots that the Spanish print has.

If this does ever get a release, the way forward would definitely have to be a 2 disc edition with the longer clothed edit and harder 'Seducers' print on the second disc.

Because of the difference in quality of the prints, the scenes that I've edited in look a bit crap and the effect is fairly jarring. I've used the Spanish as the master and plan to sub it (with the 'harder' scenes spliced in in English), so if anyone wants a copy of my cobbled together mish mash, then do let me know!!

Is this from the Italian tv broadcast on Rete 4 Luca?Was due to get a copy of this soon but might not bother now.

Hi Stephen,

I'll check when I get back home tonight mate. From what I remember, the Italian print I have has no on screen logo but I'll double check and get back to you. I was hoping to use the Italian print to splice some scenes back in but it's missing at least 10 minutes, clocking in at a paltry 81 minutes! The only advantage of having the Italian print is for the scenes inside the boat which are quite dark on the other prints - on the Italian the scenes are lighter in contrast with more natural colours. What I'd really like to know is how complete the German print is?

Quick update. The Italian print I have doesn't bear any on screen TV channel logo and is of average/good quality.

Cheers for the detailed info Luca! I had a feeling that editing together a definitive version would be a nightmare.

Like you mentioned it'd be great to know what the German VHS print consists of. Someone should give Gialloboy a nudge and see if he can shed any light on it.

I'd hazard a guess that the German version would be the 'nude' print but I'm sure it would be missing a few scenes here and there too. Ideally, I'd love to see an Italian print without the sex scenes edited out, so Stephen if you do manage to get hold of the Rete 4 print, please do let me know of the runing time. Cheers!

Hi.

I just found about this GREAT forum, so I thought about shedding some light on the German release of TOP SENSATION:

In 1971 TOP SENSATION was released to German cinemas by FAVORIT-FILM as SKLAVIN IHRER TRIEBE with a length of 2717m. The both Video releases (I actually owned both of them) both featured the same cut of the old German cinema release - everything´s there including the infamous goat-scene. Here are some lobbies of my archive (please not the misspelling of the title: "Sklaven" instead of "Sklavin"):



The interesting thing about the German release is the fact, that they recut the movie and added some new scenes (with completely different actors) to further enhance the "crime-aspect" of the film. Here are two lobbies that actually feature two scenes of the added material:
