Author Topic: I'll be meeting Franco Nero in a few months...  (Read 17768 times)

Franco Nero will be coming to the miami beach cinematech in April. I'll be hosting a portion of the "Italian film festival" where Nero will be given a life-time achievement award.

It's still a long way off but I was wondering if anybody had any questions they'd like to ask him?
I can ask for you.

I may make the jaunt down there myself if he does plan to appear.

Me and Paul met him a few years ago.

When he walked in the room with his suit and sunglasses on it was like god himself had walked in.

Very polite and nice man to talk to, as whas Enzo G Castellari who we met at the same time ::)

I was starstruck! Only happened with Nero (fucking hell it's really him), not With Fulci, Deodato or anyone, just Nero. (and maybe a bit when i saw Jennifer Tilly 8))

Didn't Jay organise it?
The Ritzy Bixton used to show some great films on their all-nighters back in the late 80's,they were very cool about drinking and smoking in there as well which made all the difference when you were stuck in an uncomfortable seat until 7 or 8 in the morning :D

Well not only that but this event will finally give me a reason to call (I've had his house and cell phone number for ages!) Tomas Milian and get him out of hiding. Maybe if I entice him with some cash (or a new beanie hat) he might show up to Nero's ceremony.

Either that or I could get him for his own event (which the cinematech has been interested in doing as of late).

do you have anymore information on this event?  I will definitely get down there if Franco Nero is showing up (and MOST DEFINITELY if Tomas Milian shows!)
thanks for any information!   :P

Yeah, I co-arranged it. Suffice to rumours, it was a 50/50 thing: lost around 3K+. But it was worth it just get Nero and Castellari. And to see so many happy faces. And free beer!  :P

Quite possibly. I have been seriously thinking about it only recently. Who would you like to be the feature of the event? Alain Delon would be a corker.

I have footage of the Nero/Castellari event. I'll get it on disc, and if it's good, I'd be more than happy to pass around (like some bad disease).

Delon would be very cool or get Luc Merenda over from Paris as he doesn't seem to mind talking about his career,be interesting to hear some stories about it.

Yeah, Luc Merenda would really cool and like Stephen Says he'd be well up for it.

A cinema to Luc Merenda? Okay. What movies and how many souls do you think would go for it...?

Alain Delon. I have his details, so...

April is still a long ways away.
I'll certainly have more by March.
