The German release of WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUR DAUGHTERS is much better than the redemption release.

Year, cheers Tanzi. That's one Monsieur Grimes also recommended - so I went for it. It's also the bugger that's holding up my order!!!  ???

Can't wait to get that little batch..!!

The German DVD from New Entertainment of Zulawski's THAT MOST IMPORTANT THING: LOVE is the only English friendly release even though its cropped to 1.78:1 from 1.66:1 and has an English dub instead of English subtitles which would have been nicer and according to Tim Lucas' answer to my query on another forum, the German disc of Radley Metzger's CAMILLE 2000 is a definite improvement over the US and UK releases.  Not perfect but far better.

Caught up with D'amato's CORMACK OF THE MOUNTIES on a UK sat channel a few weeks back,it had the title RED COATS and wasn't that a bad film.Hopefully they'll show it again soon as i'd like to make a copy of it.
I like that film too, Stephen. I've got a DVD-R taken from a Swedish VHS release. I don't have Sky, but the missus' parents do, and I noticed that RED COATS is in fairly heavy rotation on a channel called Movies4Men, along with some other Italian Westerns such as CALIFORNIA ADDIO. Are they letterboxed? If they are, I may see if I can get a few of them recorded onto tape.

Guys I'd like to hear more about DEADLOCK - I kinda, sort-of know this movie by name because the great German band Can do some music for the film

it's just been rereleased in a special edition by filmgalerie 451. got the disc on my desk, haven't watched it as yet, though. It's got both the German and the English version of the film. Among the extras, Can's sountrack is listed. plus an interview with the director, his audio commentary, and a 45min documentary about the "casting of the main actress". apparently, no English subs.

Does this mean we'll have to open up a new thread dedicated to Kraut-Westerns...?    :-X

That would be a big thread! What about one on Krautrock Kung Fu cinema? That'll be just Master of the Flying Guillotine then!

They're quite slow but reliable.
