Mine came on saturday too. Haven't watched the film itself yet, but did watch the Tomas Milian interview which was excellent and recorded this year. There's an error on the listing for it, saying it was rcorded in 2001, it's bang upto date.  ::)

Got my copy en route from the States at the moment. Am I right in thinking that this release makes the Franco Cleef redundant? Thanks.

As far as I know, Paul, the US BD presents the longer domestic cut solely in Italian with English subtitles, whereas the Franco Cleef version uses the English dub but drops into Italian for some sequences which were never included in the original English-language export version.

The German BD, on the other hand, includes both Italian and English dubs (with the latter containing about 20 minutes of Italian dialogue, with English subs - as per the Franco Cleef DVD-R).

If, like me, you prefer to watch the longer domestic cut in English (or with as much of the film in English as possible), you'll either want to hang onto the Franco Cleef disc or pick up the German BD.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try and fit the Franco Cleef disc into the box then, if there's room. Oh, and I'm not called Paul. 😃

Sorry, Graham! I saw the avatar and for some reason thought it was Paul's (not mine; I know I'm Paul too; but the other Paul :-\ ). Glad to help anyway.

Oh, and don't call me Shirley  :-\

Sergio Sollima has sadly passed away at the grand old age of 94.

R.I.P. Sergio, you were one of the greats.

RIP Sergio Sollima. One of my favourite directors... What an age, what a legacy.

It seems every label in the UK is going crazy about Sergio Sollima. :-\
After the announcement of Blu-Ray releases for Revolver (Eureka Entertainment), and Violent City (88 Films), The Big Gundown is next.

There's not many details available at the moment, but Indicator (Powerhouse) has announced a UK BD release of The Big Gundown.

While there's already some great, English-friendly BD releases of the film in the US and Germany, Indicator usually does some great work in everything they touch, from the actual transfer, the special features, and even the packaging/booklets, so I have no doubt this upcoming UK BD will be worth the wait.  8)
