OK, I'll now have to compare the three versions. More work!

*PESADELO EN VENEZA (BRASIL)

The literal translation from Portuguese into English is NIGHTMARE IN VENICE, right?  :-X

You are correct, sir!!!  :D ::)

I just have a bootleg of this one. No hardcore scenes and and the audio sounds like it was recorded in small tin building.
Like this one. It has a wicked sleazy feel to it.

Another one for me to fan edit...

The Brazilian tape released by Video Cassete do Brasil runs 98m 21s at 24fps. It is in Italian with Brazilian subtitles, and has been cropped to full-screen. The Brazilian title has been superimposed over the Italian title. It is the most complete version, missing only a few moments at the point of reel changes. These are as follows:

1- 18m 19s. Two shots at start of reel. (Note: these shots are also missing from the Italian tape. They can only be found in the Spanish tape.)
2- 56m 56s. Cut as woman masturbates man. (The missing footage can be found in both the Italian and Spanish tapes.)

------------------------------------

The Spanish tape released by Video Popular runs 98m 21s at 24 fps. It is dubbed into Spanish and letterboxed at 1.85 It is cut in the following places:

1- 4m 41s. 1m 15s of dialogue cut.
2- 13m 7s. Shot of couple kissing in alley cut.
3- 22m 33s and 24m 3s, Two cuts to scene in which woman masturbates.
4- 39m 24s. Shot of two men holding umbrella.
5- 45m 8s. Cut in sex scene.
6- 71m 38s. Shot of orgy cut.
--------------------------------------

The Italian tape released by Star is cropped to full-screen, runs 90m 46s at 25 fps, and is in Italian. It is the only version to begin with the distributor's logo. It is identical in terms of content to the Spanish tape, with one additional cut at 16m 6s (at the start of a reel). It does not include the music which plays over a black screen at the end of the other two transfers.

The quality of all three transfers is very poor.

This is one outstanding nasty and sleazy work of art, misogynistic to the max, love it :'(!
Here is a scan of my italian Star Video release (it is a boot unfortunately):

I would love to see a DVD release of this, having read so much about it, but it sounds as though that is unlikely.  I believe that Mya Communications have made noises about issuing this one, but I will believe it when I see it.

Had a chance to watch her alongside Gianni Dei again in Amasi Damiani's thriller PECCATI A VENEZIA which i think was made around the same time, the lovely Marisa Mell also stars.

Some of the score was recycled in producer Gabrielle Cristiani's BURIAL GROUND (directed by Andrea Bianchi).

I remember seeing this on the UK coming soon list for Redemption years back when they started doing remastered vhs.
Would make a great double bill with THE KILLER IS STILL AMONG US.
Producer Gabriele Crisanti really created a 'quadrilogy of abuse' with GIALLO A VENEZIA, MALIBIMBA, PATRICK VIVE ANCORA, and BURIAL GROUND.  his wife(?)/girlfriend(?) at the time Mariangela Giordano suffers a brutal/tragic death in each film!

isn't BIMBA DI SATANA part of that series too.

Cristiani wasn't too complimentary of any of the cast members of BURIAL GROUND (not even Giordano seemingly who must have been a good sport especially for her death scene in PATRICK LIVES AGAIN).

man, i always forget about that title... and it's such a killer example of straight forward erotic euro-horror that defines power through almost 'classic horror' simplicity.
reminds me of the greatest qualities of IMAGES IN THE CONVENT.

Did the proposed fan edit of this ever materialize? While none of the existing VHS releases of this sleaze-fest may look all great, I have to say that Jose's screenshots from the widescreen Spanish tape certainly look a lot more impressive than LFVW's ugly, pale-looking version with English subtitles.

Watched GIALLO A VENEZIA and PATRICK VIVE ANCORA back to back and I was constantly thinking of how similar Gianni Dei looked to the frontman of crossover legends Clawfinger:
