Last night I saw Julie Delpy's directorial effort, TWO DAYS IN PARIS: it's the simple story of a couple (Julie Delpy and Adam Goldberg) who are in the eponymous city visiting her parents for a short break but seem to run into her exes at every turn. Insecure in his relatively new relationship, Goldberg's character begins to suspect his other half of having affairs with virtually everyone they meet...
This really is the kind of cringe-inducing comedy that I love. There are some great comedic set-pieces involving said ex-boyfriends and Delpy's eccentric family. The dialogue is snappy—at times, painfully funny—and ultimately paints a very realistic picture of a relationship under a lot of unnecessary strain. Definitely one to recommend.
