The Hunchback

Finally got this incredibly rare Petroni western in the mail today.

I'll let you all know what I think after a view ::)

I've wanted to see it for ages but I was a bit wary of ordering it off that bloke on the SWWB.  Let us know what you think of it when you watch it.

I've wanted to see it for ages but I was a bit wary of ordering it off that bloke on the SWWB.

And for the price he asks for (almost 50 bucks) I can understand.

Apparently a few of his other dvds have been featuring "ghosting problems", whatever that means.

Thankfully, my disc didn't have any paranormal problems with it.

It's a nice looking widescreen transfer.

The movie was pretty good. Nothing overly special.
Had the final showdown been handled better (everybody will know what I mean when they see it. It's painfully obvious they should have gone a certain route which they didn't) it would have been a minor classic.

As it stands, it's a good movie but not one I'd recommend to newbies.

I'll go more into detail during this weekend (if I get the chance)...

One more thing...Chelo Alonso is hot in this. 8)

EDIT:
I'd rate it higher than Petroni's TEPPEPA, which I found dull.

Cheers.  Think I'll order it.  I love Petroni's DEATH RIDES A HORSE and TEPEPA so it should be worth seeing for me.

DEATH RIDES A HORSE is great.

I also prefer his silly comedy (The first Providence) to Barboni's overrated Trinity movies.

AND FOR A ROOF A SKYFUL OF STARS is class too (especially the final half hour ::))

To be honest Sean I wasn't even aware Morricone did the score ???

That about say's it all right there.

To be fair it had it's good moments but it's nothing overly special.

Watched this the other day.  Pretty much agree with Hunchback on it.  It's a decent flick which is a cut above the average spaghetti western but it ain't quite the lost gem I was hoping for.  Thought Askew did a good job as the lead.  Chelo Alonso is indeed foxy here and it's always good to see Mada Konopka.

Here's a few grabs:

Has anyone seen any other versions of this film? The credits are obviously added later on so I was wondering if the dvd missing the original credit sequence?

Weisser is once again misinformed.
The soundtrack was not done by Morricone.
