Have had the Warner double bill (now out of print, though it was re-issued by Optimum last year) and have meant to get around to watching the flicks for ages, but completely forgot about them... until I read some of Kev Coed's encouraging comments in another thread.
So, last night, I gave the first film a spin and wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. The film has a somewhat limp and convoluted start, but once the premise is set, the film slips into a fast-paced thriller and unlike many films of the genre, it is actually thrilling. There are some nice set-pieces, some gratuitous breast-shots and some choice lines. My only critisicm is that the addition of some spicy language would have been very welcome. That said, this is a great, British crime flick. I shall try and watch the second one tonight...
