One of my better attempts at photography, I think.

There was an Italian poster for it up on Ebay a couple of years ago. I did bid on it but it went up a bit higher than I wanted to pay (it wasn't that good a poster). It would be interesting to know how the film did over there as it has a lot in common with their films of that time.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched it and it dawned on me that the project probably only came into fruition because violent cop flicks seemed to be a worldwide phenomenon at the time.

You can probably blame it all on THE FRENCH CONNECTION.

Yeah, that and DIRTY HARRY, for sure.

Watched SWEENEY 2 last night--and as Kev mentioned before--it's not in the same league as the first film at all. It's still an enjoyable film, but is quite plodding, with little in the way of the exciting action sequences that peppered the first one.

No, I'd say the first one was more violent, actually.

The second film is more like an extended TV episode but with added violence and swearing. The first film can easily stand up on its own.

All in a row? You're even more dedicated than myself.

Can never get into REGAN that much. It's ok, but it's not as hard-hitting as the programme that followed.

I love Sweeney 2, despite so many loose ends and half-baked subplots that just peter out. And I could never quite understand why Ken Hutchison puts those knickers over the business end of the shotgun before he tops himself. They seemed too skimpy to afford him any protection from the heat!

I think Tony Hatch's score for the movie is marvellous too. I'd forgive him for his themes to Crossroads, Neighbours, etc purely on the strength of that.

There's four TV series to go along with it too! Some of the episodes (particularly the later ones) can be a bit filler, but others can still make you wonder how the fuck they got shown on prime time TV.
