What is your opinion about this film?
"Assassin(s)" is an interesting, quite impressive movie,a bit too long and flawed but still fascinating in its desperate, hopeless, nihilistic tone...the film is a dark tale dealing with many difficult subjects:
violence, indifference and loneliness in suburbia, the dangerous influence of tv, etc.
Probably because of its uncompromising, bleak tone and shocking violence "Assassin(s)" bombed at the french box office and met mostly negative reviews (especially at the Cannes Film Festival where it was booed by the critics) but it is a finely shot, acted and scored (by Carter Burwell) film, and overall it deserves a better reputation, especially after that Kassovitz's career went downhill with the disappointing "Les rivières pourpres","Gothika" and "Babylon A.D."
