I guess it makes a lot of sense when you consider that the cannibal movies shared a lot of the same footage too.

I guess that these sequences were quite costly to stage, especially if they were hiring guys like Rémy Julienne, thus I can understand why some of the more spectacular shots were used over and over.

BTW anyone know how many Euro Films Rémy Julienne and his stunt team did? I know he did a few Bond films but I'd put good money on him doing driving stunts on at least a few of our favourite films...

I think that one of the car crash shots from VIOLENT PROFESSIONALS was later used in SILENT ACTION as well.
That's right,it's the Citroen crashing against the tree. Also all these films were produced by Martino's Dania company.

That's the connection right there Stephen. Luciano Martino...

I'd not thought of that before.  :'(

unfortunately Rèmy Julienne was credited only in a few movies in which he was involved, he was a stunt not only for car chases and I guess that he worked at least in 20/30 italian crime movies

but... I know that he has a document with all the movies in which he worked  :'(

now he lives in France, i think his equipe works yet in cinema and also him make some scenes... for fun

i saw him some years ago in a (bad) italian tv-show, but the work of his equipe in the show was great  ::)

Julienne's work in Massi's HIGHWAY RACER(Poliziotto sprint) is nothing short of amazing, love this scene where he gets Infanti's Citroen to drive on its side through the gap whilst the robber is still shooting at Merli.Superb :'(

Excellent idea for a topic.

I've been fascinated by re-use of footage in Eurocrime movies and other cheap extremes that were born out of a necessity to crank these films out.

And it's not only the chases, but also the chase music. What is that one piece of music that's over the first car chase in HIGH CRIME? It turns up in VIOLENT ROME (also during a chase, I think) and in WEAPONS OF DEATH (when Leonard Mann's character is crawling across the top of that truck).

So that's three movies. Any more?

(You guys know which piece of music I'm talking about?)

Nice job, Wim, on your Lenzi interview.

http://www.cultfilmsenkutfilms.com/extras/umberto_lenzi.html

Now we finally have the story of how that one car crash got used in three films.
