Well, you actually might have watched the DVD...  :D
The picture does not look perfect but it's ok:

And if someone who knows what he does tells the filmart guys how to do a proper encode their next releases might even look better.  :-\

I've only taken a quick look at the DVD, but the image quality looked pretty good to me.

I definitely watched the Blu ray :-\
It definately is not up to Blu ray standards.  Im still glad I bought it but IMO they should only ever have put it out on DVD. Not sure why it looks like it does were they using a 35mm print as source, I have my doubts about that.

Which are the audio tracks and the subtitles available for this FilmArt release?

I've just rechecked: Italian, English and German audio and German subs only.

I'm already impressed this has a decent release now, this looks fantastic. I had the VHS of this for years. Here's hoping they release some more rare giallo, Because I'm hoping for a better version of La morte scende leggera  ;D.

Wow, if this is the case seems like they really screwed up 'fixing' the main presentation.
Distorted the aspect ratio as well...good to know the straight transfer version looks fine.
I reduced the image size here but the difference is rather shocking.

The caps posted above seem to be from the unrestored version.

Wow… did Mr Magoo do the restoration? Surely you've got to be almost blind to think that looks better.

Sorry, i guess i caused some confusion! The screenshots shown above are from the 'scenes without day-for-night-filter' supplemental feature NOT the restored version! I just made those to illustrate the difference between the different masters (heck, the version i had before, did not even look as 'good' as the no-day-for-night version).

Here is comparison restored/unrestored version:

Now that makes much more sense.

France's Le Chat are releasing this one soon, curious to see what they have up their sleeve.
