watched the Koch disc on the weekend. nice movie with some serious flaws, though. the landscape photography was awesome and so is the image quality of the Koch DVD! hated the child actor, though.
but what REALLY put me off was the abysmally awful soundtrack. I mean, this is torture!
I absolutely hate the seventies-softrock-pop-folk-country hybrid, and this soundtrack has got to be one of the worst examples of this abhorred genre. Gawd, how often can you use ONE song during a movie? it felt as if it was coming up every three minutes, and it being a really ugly song didn't help either. I really had to turn down the audio some fifty times to be able to enjoy the landscape shots.

having said that, fans of CSN and Joan Baez will probably enjoy the music, I assume.

And yes, that ending is really embarrassing.

If Four of the Apocalypse comes with similar aural atrocities, I think I'll pass.

it has the English dub, along with the Italian and German dubs. I'll have to check for the subs.

actually I didn't mean to! I found the film as such pretty solid and enjoyable, though not exactly remarkable.
it's the music that put me off. but that probably depends on your taste.

I love the ending, makes me laugh out loud every time!  As for FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE, it's my all time favorite Fulci film, and one of my favorite films in general.

on a side note about FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE, I was watching CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD last night and noticed in the bar scenes, the song 'Movin' On' is playing very quietly in the background!

I prefer his last 2.. I like the emotional feeling in them, I found Four of the Apocalypse pretty deep and meaningful. Still like Massacre Time alot though.

Yup, I was disappointed BIG TIME when I saw it a couple of years back and I agree that Massacre Time is Fulci's best Spaghetti BY FAR!!

I've not seen SILVER SADDLE but from what I gather it's more of a comedy western than a traditional spaghetti, so I wasn't expecting it to be on a par with FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE and MASSACRE TIME anyway.
