Anyone picked up the recent DVD of this from Stormovie in Italy? Features a widescreen print in Italian with an optional English dub. I've never seen it but with a cast featuring Richard Johnson, Franco Nero and Bud Spencer it's got to be worth a look?

The old fullscreen R2 DVD from Simitar seems to out of print now and is currently going for about £26 on Amazon  :-\

  • Leonardo Tanzi is the Don!

i used to have the old U.S. simitar dvd which was a terrible print taken from a bad vhs, i thought it was quite boring but i'd be willing to give it another go.

Can you confirm the English dub - Kultvideo just lists Italian and German.

Sounds like a fascinating film and the Morricone soundtrack just seals the deal. Going by the order of the credits on IMDb, Bud Spencer only gets a very minor role but gets retrospectively promoted to the DVD cover (seems to happen quite often with Mr Spencer).

I can't confirm it Tim, I'm just going off what's listed over at Videociak's page...

It's also listed as having an English track over at DVD.it and Bloodbuster Video

Good news! I love Italian WWII films so I'll have to get this one! Giuliano Montaldo is a pretty interesting director too.

Going by the order of the credits on IMDb, Bud Spencer only gets a very minor role but gets retrospectively promoted to the DVD cover (seems to happen quite often with Mr Spencer).

The fact that Bud Spencer is at bottom of the cast list on the IMDb is probably just because he gets an 'and' credit because of his popularity. His role could still be a substantial one.
