Don't know if this has been mentioned before but just found the hidden 'Let's Rock With Ray' supplement on the extras menu page of the Sazuma disc - it's a karaoke-style sing-a-long to the Bryan Ferry riff 'Place for the Landing'. All together now...

is it wrong of me to like his trippy lyrics and harmonica more than Ferry's original 'Let's Stick Together'!?

Ah, yes, Bryan Ferry!  :-*  I knew I'd heard something similar to Place for the Landing before.

Here's that review, Jonny:

http://10kbullets.com/reviews/l/last-house-on-the-beach-the-severin-films/

According to the reviewer at 10K Bullets, they look to be the same -- save for the Severin version is progressive (vs. interlaced).

Cool, still no mention that the Sazuma DVD comes with a bonus CD of the - still otherwise unavailable - soundtrack.

Yeah, no soundtrack included and what about the photo gallery, the German opening credits and the easter egg?

Sorta odd that the 10K Bullets, linked above states in their review:

"Severin Films North American DVD debut for Last House on the Beach comes with a stunning audio/video presentation that carries over most of the extras included on Sazuma Productions region 2 DVD."

I consider the CD score to be a pretty big extra, if not the main extra.  The Severin disc appears to carry over "some" of the Sazuma extras, not "most" of them.

Quote
the German opening credits

I wish more DVD companies would consider alternate credit sequences worthy extras (at least, in the original language and ones that make use of different background footage or different titles).

Same here, seems only the German labels bother with this.

1] La Settima Donna (vocals by Edda Dell'Orso) (2:26 min)
Was a bit surprised to hear this playing over the opening/closing credits of the 1980 Italian/French h/c production LE SEGRETE ESPERIENZE DI LUCA E FANNY with Brigitte Lahaie.

I saw this a long time ago.  Which version did you see?  There is a French hardcore version and a German theatrical version on a 2 disc set.  Is the theme on all versions or might it only be on the Italian version?  I can't recall but I didn't think the score sounded familiar when I saw LAST HOUSE.

I saw the French and Italian hardcore versions, the theme plays on both during the opening/closing credits though it's cut very short at the end of the French edition.

I picked this up recently! I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. It's interesting Mondo Digital point out the lack of reference to the company that put it out on the package, as it made me a little disheartened that it was possibly a bootleg of poor quality. Nice to know that's not the case and there's a quality transfer to look forward to.

Yeah, when Mondo said it looks pretty spectacular I was sold and bought it straight away.

I had no idea there was a hardcore edit of this available. I have the Sazuma release, was the French cut included with this set?

Does anyone know what these options mean? I'm guessing one's a restored version from the negative and inter positive combined? With the other being just from the inter positive?
