I agree with your feelings on first viewing Ben. I expected so much more.

The ending was pretty good though.

As I'm slowing down with my PAL dvds purchases, I'll pass.

The dvd has been released.
The transfer is awesome.
The main extra feature is a 15 minutes interview with Claudia Cardinale.
I must admit that it isn't extremely informative because Mrs Cardinale didn't have many memories of this movie but it's better than nothing.

Only german subtitles for the italian version of the movie and the featurette.

Good news,looks like Raro are releasing this in Feb'09 with English options.

The Raro DVD could still be letterboxed at 1.85:1, they tend to put 4:3 on their covers to indicate a non-anamorphic transfer of a widescreen presentation - I'm pretty sure the cover for UOMINI SI NASCE (LIVE LIKE A COP...) has 4:3 on the cover, for example.
