Lefteris, if I was in London I would love to catch this on the big screen.  Love this film.

It is one of my all-time favorites! I am seriously thinking about coming (I think a roundtrip ticket will cost me like 200 euros) but I would like to hang out with somebody while I'm there  :-\ Tanzi, Johny, Paul? anyone?  :-\

Personally, I'd think twice about this. From the host's website at www.badfilmclub.com/about.htm

"Armed only with their wit and their laser pointers the duo take you on a journey through bad plot lines, terrible dialogue, awful acting and some of the worst special effects known to man. And all the while they provide a live DVD style commentary just in case you missed the worst bits."

Maybe it's me, but it sounds bloody awful.

You mean the film sounds bloody awful?? Not at all! The summary those guys wrote is awful. Some of the dialogue is terrible indeed (by today's standards of course) but the acting isn't bad for such a cheesy movie and the special effects are actually pretty good. So screw these kids who wrote that shit. The film will be screened with "live commentary"? Now I am starting to worry! I don't want to spend like 300 Euros to come there and listen to some stupid kid talk while the film is playing!!!

Thanks for offering to come Aarron! I really want to come but I will have to think about it twice. Just need to make sure I will find cheap air tickets and that there will be no commentary during the screening  :)

Lefteris, it sounds like they are going to be doing a MST3K-style running commentary. Btw, that`s Mystery Science Theater 3000, and it`s fellas that make smart-ass remarks about the film as it runs. I like MST3K, but I ain`t interested in seeing a film I like done this way on the big screen.

No! No! No! The film doesn't sound awful. I've never seen it, but I'd like to. I just don't want to watch it with a couple of smart-alecs poking fun at it while the crowd titters along.

Same here. I'd more than likely want to stuff their laser pointers up their arses after about 10 minutes of their shenanigans.

Hahaha that's exactly what these kids deserve! I am so disappointed now.. Seems that my chance to see COBRA on the big screen is ruined  :)

This all begs the question:  How is the R1 DVD?  It can be found for around $2 used on amazon, and just wondering what the quality of the disc is, and if it's widescreen/anamorphic, etc.

DVD Compare say the R1 disc is the way to go...

This film is badly in need of an unrated release.

I don't think the US release is actually "cut" is it? I remember you telling me there was gorier stuff that never made it in any known version of the movie. I guess that footage just ended up on the cutting room floor, just like that "eyeball" shot in LIVE LIKE A COP DIE LIKE A MAN. If the footage still exists and the studio is willing to make a new cut that will include it... who knows... we want COBRA REDUX  :-\

I think George Pan Cosmatos mentions something about the mpaa making them tone a lot of it down on the commentary track of the dvd.
