Flesh and Blood Show (1972, Pete Walker)
« on: 20 Jan 2009 - 12:46 »

EMS has released THE FLESH AND BLOOD SHOW on DVD.  Any idea how it compares to the UK disc which has the 3D footage as an extra?  I've only seen the Shriek Show disc (the copy I saw worked but I've been unwilling to even snatch up a cheap copy on eBay because I've heard that some of the Shriek Show Pete Walker discs are faulty).

I cannot comment on the EMS disc, but the UK disc from Odeon is pretty good (exactly the same transfer used for Shriek Show's disc which is slightly overmatted but rarely noticeable). There is a 3D sequence as an extra, but with my 3D facilities I cannot comment on the effectiveness.

Both Odeon and Shriek Show discs contain different trailers.

I would imagine the same master was used as the film is handled worldwide by the same guy. Unless of course the Germans did a new transfer from German film elements, which is likely I guess.

The Shriek Show DVD also contains the 3D sequence, but it's as an Easter Egg in the extras menu.

I presume that's Euro London Films?

Both Odeon and Shriek Show discs contain different trailers.

The trailer on the Odeon disc is also on the first volume of Synapse's trailer collection 42nd STREET FOREVER.
