I've just captured and uploaded this rare American "grindhouse" trailer - under the US title FEMALE BUTCHER.

Nice one! I've never seen the film itself so I'm really looking forward to the DVD release.

I love the voice over on that trailer.
Crying shame this is gonna be the covered version with nude bits tacked on.
I could live with some minor expository footage missing but the covered version is deal breaker for me.

Jonny, can't believe you have never seen this one.
It's one of the best Spanish horrors ....period.  The attention to period detail and vamopire lore is outstanding, and the cast is near perfect.

I can't wait for the dvd release. Like Jonny, I've never seen Grau's ode to Countess Bathory.
Thanks for uploading that great "grindhouse" trailer Marc.  ;)

I love that trailer -- how generous of that distributor to present us with the facts of this case and let us be the judge!  Especially with this new Satan evidence he talks about!

I've never seen this and don't think I've really read anything about it.  Any other voices out there that've seen it?  I'll definitely get the dvd either way, just curious...

it definitely stands out as one of the best gothic horror movies ever!
it's an absolutely gorgeous, complex, almost poetic little masterpiece. and Ewa Aulin's in it, too!
I've been trying in vain to find out which label is going to release it - is it grindhouse themselves? if so I'll definitely spare myself the effort of buying the dvd - judging from the quality of some of their previous 2fers, I think I'll pass. I heard that ZDD have just upgraded their already good verseion to a near pristine dvd, they're certainly worth checking out.

Today it was announced that MYA COMMUNICATION is releasing this in mid May. Apparently they don't stick to just Italian productions.

I think the ZDD version might be the same transfer but with the naughty bits spliced in from another source rather than being offered as extras.

Part of me worries about the DVD-R status of boots from ZDD and other places, as I had a couple of DVD-R's that a mate burnt for me in late 2006 suddenly become unplayable over the past 6 months.  Maybe I should bootleg my bootlegs every 12 months so I've always got a semi-recent copy in case the 'original' boot gave up the ghost.

As long as you use decent quality blanks there shouldn't be a problem with DVD-Rs.

I always make back-up discs of the rarer films in my collection for this reason, got doubles safely stashed away just incase.

there are reviews up and it's non-anamorphic.  it sounds like they used the master for the Spanish Filmax release as their source.

I have had a couple recent DVD-R 's I got in trade go wonky on me in less than 6 months.  The linking factor was each one that went defective had a label attached to the surface.  I was able to dump them onto my hard drive and re burn, btu it's a strong case against slapping labels on your disc surfaces ( I won't even write on 'em...taking no chances here ).

I read the Mya disc was pulled back til June. I watched the Spansh DVD yesterday and ran the ( dutch?swedish ) Blood Ceremony tape on another montior and noticed 6 scenes in the Spansih print that resort to clothed or alternate takes...I also read Mya only has some of them in the extras section ( sloppy work ).  I wish Mya left this one alone.....
