That's true, there was a reason, it just wasn't good enough for that guy to shoot the kid in cold blood lol at least it didn't seem good enough to me. I mean that would only happen in a movie like HOSTEL 2 where the focus is extreme violence and not in a more conventional/serious film. Don't get me wrong though, I had absolutely no problem with it and I believe that kind of stuff helps spice up a movie!  :P

It was time for MALADOLESCENZA to be mentioned here! It can either be described as a beautiful story of childhood love or a filthy exploitation film that has no limits. It always depends on your point of view. I think every coin has 2 sides so I believe the film is a little bit of both. Some would find it very offensive and its not a surprise that its German DVD was banned.

Another film that came to mind right now is ISLAND OF DEATH by Nikos Mastorakis. Greek exploitation in general is totally unknown outside of Greece, but this one gained lots of fame after becoming an official "video nasty". It certainly beats most of the films in that list in terms of extremity and political incorrectness.

1) guy has sex with a goat, then kills it.
2) same guy has sex with his own sister repeatedly- they even masturbate while looking at the pictures of their victims!
3) he kills homosexual people in order to clean up the island from the "perverts"
4) an older woman bites his penis while giving him head and then he pisses in her face and beats her up
5) a shepherd rapes the guy's sister and then the guy himself!

any opinions on the movie?

  • Leonardo Tanzi is the Don!

i haven't seen ISLAND OF DEATH for ages.

One scene what i thought was funny was when he was chasing one of the queers through the street with a sword and said something about being an angel sent from god to rid the world of perversions and he says "but i believe in god" and gets a classic reply "I'm sorry my friend, but he no longer believes in you" before slaying him.

Crucifying the workman on the floor after his sister seduced him and pouring white paint down his throat!

I honestly don't know what to think about MALADOLESCENZA. It is a very controversial film, that's for sure and like I wrote earlier it depends on your point of view. Personally I didn't find the movie offensive or pornographic. Actually I admired the teenagers in it for their great acting and for how brave and professional they were. I don't believe the filmmaker's intention was to just exploit these teens because the movie has much more going on for it besides sex. Actually, the story is very realistic and I believe most children/teenagers have similar experiences of love and extreme jealousy. Not to mention the mean games the two kids were playing with Laura Wendel's character- I could relate to that stuff while watching the film.

As for the teenage actors, I would like to know their exact age during the making of the film. I'd also be very curious to know if they had been sexually active in their personal lives before taking part in the movie- that would shed some light to the story.

Overall, I can only recommend the movie.

There's also the more extreme LA LOCANDA DELLA MALADOLESCENZA.

Had no idea about this! Have you seen it Stephen? Marcella Petri was also the lead in a Greek sexploitation film titled NATHALIE, directed by Ilias Milonakos (EMANUELLE QUEEN OF SADOS).
