RARO Blu-Ray

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=218275

As independent distributors it's increasingly difficult to take risks with new titles so what we've all decided to do is re-release the same film twenty times over, across the globe, because we are confident that by releasing the same film twenty times over all the real fans will dedicate an entire shelf to just one film. Great, eh? We'll be cross-coordinating matching spines soon so once you have all 20 releases they'll look just dapper all lined up.

But we do sometimes take risks, I mean, when we sat down and really thought about what was still unreleased on DVD... no scratch that, fuckin' blu-ray... we really had to call in the experts, we looked at all the gialli, all the eurocrime, all the horror films that had never seen the light of day and then decided, once we'd smoked enough crack, that THIS! was the title everyone wanted to see...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eagles-Over-London-Blu-ray-Import/dp/B0026LYMG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1375799775&sr=8-3&keywords=eagles+over+london

...but nobody bought it, shame on you.

So we dug deeper into the archives, we really looked deep this time and we even found a giallo... We were confident that with our expertise and viewing knowledge that THIS! was the giallo everyone was screaming out for...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Girl-Room-DVD-Region-NTSC/dp/B006P4GHWA/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1375799965&sr=1-1&keywords=the+girl+in+room+2a

I mean, the director is an American, how much more Italian can you get?

But nobody bought them, and shame on the fans for not supporting us.

That's why we're giving you all digital release number sixteen of Nightmare City - because you deserve the very best.

I hope Arrow get around to releasing Four Flies on Grey Velvet next, that's only had about 7 digital releases, they could do a multi-disc set with the same film repeated on ten discs to top the 16 releases of Nightmare City.
I share your pain. It is unfortunate that the same few films get released all the time. Im sick of hearing the flimsy excuse that these more commercial selling films will fund the more obscure titles. Its pathetic really.

Does anyone know why Arrow have upped their Blu ray prices astronomically? They used to retail for around the £12-13 mark on Amazon, but their recent releases listed on Amazon are priced at around the £18 mark.... and Delta Force is a fuckin ridiculous £23 on there !!! :(  I know this will open the floodgate for Tanzi most probabaly...LOl  ;D

I would imagine it's not down to Arrow it's probably down to Amazon themselves. Alot of Arrow and Shameless titles seem to be silly prices on Amazon at the moment, but over at Zavvi they seem to be the regular £12.99 - £14.99 prices.

I would think Arrow will be having a mid year sale in June or if not an end of year sale like they did in December last year were most Blu's end up been £7.99  again.

Hope you're right, there's quite a few titles I want to buy at the moment but the price hike has put me off. Weird how when there wasn't a single title I wanted everything was low price but as soon as all the goodies arrive like the PHIBES films, THEATRE OF BLOOD etc the buggers all jump up in price! Typical!

It's still cheaper to buy Phibes from the Arrow Shop, I think it's £21.99 at the moment. When they announce their upcomming releases there always cheaper at the Arrow Shop, often £13.99 for the blu's. Amazon do price hikes on certain labels or brands a lot, look at the price of Shameless releases at moment. The Tenth Victim is somewhere around £23 last time I looked. They also do it to Doctor Who DVD's, upto the first week of release their usually £13.99 then they shoot upto £19.99 or beyond sometimes.

Phibes is £20.69 at Zavvi with the discount code 10SOON but (as Jamiouse says), I would expect it to be a good deal cheaper in one of Arrow's sales if you can wait.

Yesterday, on Paul Naschy's birthday, Arrow UK asked fans what titles they want to see.  If you have any ideas, please post them on their FB page.
