Stranger In Paso Bravo (Salvatore Rosso, 1968)

Anthony Steffen plays the mysterious stranger called Gary Hamilton who (Fistful Of Dollars style) arrives at Paso Bravo on a mule.Similar to FOD Hamilton is given a very hostile welcome from the town thugs who go out of their way to rough him up,throw drink in his face, generally humiliate him but this anti-hero doesn't fight back or even have a gun,at least initially.

We find out out by about a third into the movie that years before Hamiltons family had perished in a fire started by the sadistic  town boss Acombar(Eduardo Fajardo)and once his henchmen make the mistake of offering Hamilton a winchester the pace of the movie soon picks up drastically.Hamilton is aided in his vengeance by the lovely guitar strumming, singing owner of the saloon Rosy(Adriana Ambesi) and a rip-off salesmen(Pepe Calvo from FOD who sold him the mule and supplies the light relief in the movie),and it all builds up to a terrific climax when they make an exciting assault on Acombars ranch.

Both Steffen and Fajardo excel in this movie, which i rate 6 out of 10.  :'(
