I Maniaci / The Maniacs (Lucio Fulci, 1964)
« on: 05 Jun 2009 - 12:15 »

Watched the MYA disk of The Maniacs last night.

I wasn't sure what to expect, i think if this film was not directed by Mr. F himself then I would never have bought it! Anyway, i am very happy I did, quirky and enjoyable, I certainly recommend this movie.

The scene about the antique hunters had me almost in tears!
The MYA release, as like their others, is very nice. Although no real extras and I noticed a weird horizontal line throughout some scenes (i wasn't sure if it was my PC's encoding in VideoLan), but nethertheless, nothing to scream about.

Incredible to think that Lucio made this film if you're a traditional "splinter in the eye" fan... :-*

Go get it!

Then you'd probably enjoy Operation San Pietro!

there is something quite enterraining about this movie, and its fun to see Margaret Lee doing comedy rather than just eye candy in a spy movie or appearing naked in one of her 1970s generally trashy pics. I enjoy this movie and Arriva Dorellik for just that reason.

Also there is a blink and miss it appearance by Mary Arden at the start. I am quite pleased to have the locandina for this little movie.
