Anyone know much about this? It's had a couple of shitty budget releases in the US but is coming to R2 courtesy of MGM/Fox on 16th July and is credited to Gianfranco Parolini Anglicised pseudonym, Frank Kramer.

I know it's an awful movie. A most dreadful missed opportunity considering its exploitation cast. I think Cannon had something to do with one.

That wouldn't surprise me as someone mentioned that the film was shot in Israel, on the other forum. Golan and Globus are Israeli.

I'm one of the nine people that actually like it.

That being said it isn't as bad as most make it out to be.
I think the fans are just angry that even though the film has the presence of a great cast, it doesn't amount to anything great.

I'll be picking up the R2 dvd so I can finally have it on widescreen.

It has some moments of greatness (the LVC flashback and the final duel), afterall it's Parolini.

The very memorbale final showdown can be seen here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIVK1IvTLxA
God's Gun gets more plays on my player than "Return Of Sabata" that's for sure.

For those of you that live in the states it is easily obtained in pretty much any bargain bin anywhere for less than 5 bucks (and it normally comes along side three other movies in a box set).
Of course you have to endure the awful pan n' scan vhs transfer.

RETURN OF SABATA is entertaining and doesn't deserve the stick it tends to get, whereas i find GODS GUN totally unwatchable.LVC's dubber is awful,Leif Garrett extremely irritating,Jack Palance looks burned out,the storyline attrocious,Parolini's direction(for him) dreadful and one of the most annoying repetative sw scores i've heard.

Apart from that its OK

BTW ADIOS SABATA is brilliant and Brynner definitely should have been in more sw's.

Sorry guys. I noticed that the link I gave for the final showdown was incorrectly labeled.

I fixed it now.

Hey that endings a bit like a soap opera to me! ;D

Yes that endings better than i remember it.The better (than mine) pan and scan print helps and somehow the dubbing sounds more LVC like!! :o

The flashback in the second act is also brilliant.

It is a cut print of the film, some nudity is missing

I've already seen Danning's breasts so even if she did show them here it wouldn't be worth forking over the cash for this travesty of a western. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the cast didn't have so much potential for a great movie.

I watched it tonight, yes she does show her tit after being raped by Palance, your right, one tit only  ::)

i read that there was some nudity missing, i can't see where that would be though unless it's one of them films where they shot two versions, possibly where all the girls are getting abused in the Saloon.

They've been showing a widescreen version of this on one of the UK sattelite free-to-air channels (not movies4men) which i taped recently but not watched as yet.
