The wear along the top not unusual as the glossy inserts on some of these clamshells shifted around every time the case was opened and closed (especially on the clamshells where the clear plastic was not sealed along the bottom. Blockbuster was not around (at least as a national chain) when the tape came out so it probably also made the rounds at at least one or two mom and pop shops before Blockbuster bulldozed over them (note the pealed off alarm strip under the Blockbuster sticker).
