Watched this TWICE last night after receiving three of the new non English friendly Vellavision discs in the mail yesterday. Loved it. Excellent movie and the best film I've seen the man in. Naschy is easily a better director than those he was assigned to work with. This one definitely needs more recognition and deserves to get an English friendly release of one kind or another. The film looks stunning as does INQUISITION (1976) and EL CAMINANTE (1979), the latter of which I'm very anxious to check out considering the high regard it's held in. Reviewed BEAST here...

INQUISITION is really good, too and directed by Naschy. A surprising amount of full frontal nudity in this one so far.

EL CAMINENTE is one of my favorite Naschy films.
I was a tad let down by the quality of BEAST, it's easily the least impressive looking of the Vellavison discs.
But I agree on the film, it's very interesting and this release should get it some attention.
Fans subs are 75 % done or so ( transcribed and corrected from the VSoM tape ), Fansubs are already available for EL CAMINENTE.

I definitely am looking forward to EL CAMINANTE. I watched half of INQUISITION on my LCD tv and it looked great. BEAST I watched on a flatscreen standard tv, but it looked fantastic on it.

I thought about picking up this recent release of BEAST but instead went for VENGEANCE OF THE MUMMY and INQUISITION, both of which look stunning.  Luckily, there appear to be Fansubs about for VENGEANCE which have been re-timed for the new disc.  I also had a go at syncing (along with a small pitch correction) an English audio dub track I had to the new release of INQUISITION and this seems to have come out very nicely.  Hopefully, some Fansubs will also turn up for this soon.

Sounds like EL CAMINENTE might be worth getting hold of.
