Skolimowsky's Deep End getting new restoration.

Anyone know what happened to this?  - http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3id53e7ac87972131eec15abd73b645c18

It would be a smash hit if it was re-released. One of my favourite films.

Finally BFI have got their act together and will be releasing Deep End - with a theatrical release to boot.
Great film - only seen very shitty prints, so very much looking forward to this -

I'm really looking forard to seeing this. I've never seen it at all and it sounds right up my street.

Indeed it is - Long tracking shots of '70s Soho, Burt Kwouk, Cat Stevens and Jane Asher in the buff. What more could you ask for?

Nothing.  ::)

It wasn't until I read some recent reviews of DEEP END that I realised that Stevens's music featured in the film. I'm purely guessing here, but so you think that this film had an influence on Hal Ashby's choice of music in HAROLD AND MAUDE, made the following year and released by the same studio?

Could be - a shame then that HAROLD AND MAUDE didn't feature CAN in any way...

The band Can? Rather random but I'd not heard of Can before last week but ended up discovering the Ege Bamyasi album on Spotify.

I liked the music but it was ruined by the awful singing.  :D
