The one I used to have was fine but then I bought that around 2002/2003 so no idea if there was a bad lot after that.

Presumably, this would require someone to rescan all of the film elements in HD and reassemble each of the episodes digitally.

It dawned on me a couple of weeks ago that I still hadn't picked this up (the reports of faulty ones put me off) so I finally got around to it and ordered one.

Same here. I used to be allowed to watch pretty much anything, especially at weekends. Twins of Evil was a bit of an eye-opener back in those days...

So did ITV just repackage it then? I need to rebuy it sometime but I've been tempted by the Synapse version to see what it looks like. Always hovers around that £15 mark.

Do the original elements still exist though? I think the Synapse ones were from a tape master which was the best they could get hold of.

German set out in May.

Says remastered, don't know if it's newly remastered or if they are the same as the U.K. set and they were considered as such.
