Ingmar Bergman RIP

The Swedish master has passed away at the age of 89. I know his films have a love/hate affect on people but I've loved pretty much everyone I've seen (mainly the well known ones). He will be missed.

Sad news.

To be honest I don't think I've ever watched one of his films.

...me neither. Still, he's considered one of the most important filmmakers of the 20th century, so his death is quite a blow, eh?

I suppose I could say you are missing out on some fantastic films but like I said they aren't for everyone because they are so often downbeat and grim affairs. Partciular favourites of mine include HOUR OF THE WOLF, PERSONA, THE SILENCE, FANNY AND ALEXANDER, AUTUMN SONATA and THROUGH THE GLASS DARKLY. I haven't seen many of his earlier films but I'm slowly making my way through them.

Only seen SEVENTH SEAL. Great film but I don't see the point to seek out his other work.
Antonioni died today.

I liked how he had Death be a funny character in 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey'
