'La Polizia interviene: ordine di uccidere'

Well made and quite enjoyable film from Rosati featuring Leonard Mann as the Captain of a 'special Squad' doing the usual thing of seeking out corruption and arresting the bad guys. Fausto Tozzi (Don Ricuzzo Cantimo in Bianchi's 'Cry of a Prostitute') also stars as Mann's friend and fellow Police officer and James Mason pops up as high ranking official Senator Leandri.

Starts off well with a kidnapping and high speed chase, ending badly with two police officers brutally machine gunned to death, things slow down a touch for the films mid section but certainly pick up towards the end with some nice shoot outs and plot twists.

Some cool music cues from Paolo Vasile but sadly they don't seem to play out long enough and just as you're starting to enjoy them they stop, be interesting to know if there's a CD with the full length cues on somewhere.

Copy I have is letterboxed, dubbed into English and came from a Greek VHS, not sure which label though. Anyone have a cover scan for this?

I've always had the impression that Mason and Boyd are having some sort of secret love affair in this, anyone else notice?

Boyd's character, Lanza, is gay that's for sure. I missed on the Mason connection though, will have to look out for that next time I watch it.

Yeah agree about Lanza, also check the scene in the park where Boyd links Mason's arm and Mason asks him if he'll be staying the night with him.

What was up with Mason and Boyd offscreen? Were they friends, or did they just have the same talent representation?

They made a number of films together, and there even seem to be more projects meant for the two of them that weren't made; THE PERFECT KILLER began as a film for the two of them (before becoming a vehicle for Lee Van Cleef and John Ireland).

:)  Wow, took this one in last night.  What fun!  This one is one of my new favorites w/Leonard Mann along w/Weapons of Death.  Janet Agren (and it's as if I just noticed ???)  is totally beautiful in this one.  It's almost as if she has this uncanny ability of popping into movies, like the Killer Reserved Nine Seats, and adding some spice and disappearing.   ;)

Does anyone know if the recent Italian DVD is any better than the H&W release from a few years back?

Says it's 16:9 enhanced over at Kult Video

Recently got my hands on the German VHS, really enjoyed this flick ... also bought the DVD, it letterboxed with italian audio only.

Some fansubs would be pretty awesome :)
