Yes, a friend of mine died a few months ago - he was a projectionist all over London from the fifties right up to recently - and he kept a diary of everything he screened. I'll see if I can get hold of his diary. It would make an amazing website, and a nice tribute to a lovely bloke.

About 10 years ago I bought a full set  of  Monthly Film Bulletins at a bootfair (along with some Time Outs ) . Im afraid to say most got thrown out , but ive still got some knocking around .
Ill have a look tonight , if ifind more ill put up more info (I remember a great "Films and Filming
with a "Mark of the Devil " cover and photo article )...
It would be nice in these days of corporate ownership of cinemas to hear peoples memories of
 the 70s cinemas .
I will never forget The Biograph in Victoria with its predators running down to the toilet every
time someone went for a piss ... I sat with  my legs crossed through " Night of the living dead "

Further to The Biograph cinema , I thought it was odd when I went to the ticket office
( this was about 1973-4 ) , for an X film double bill ( Night of the Living Dead + some thriller )
I was about 13 and the guy at the booth didnt even look at me or my freind...
The same guy giving tickets out rushed out to tear the tickets in half . and then we
entered the cinema , a real old style theatre , we sat down as soon as the lights went down
I noticed people moving along the rows and even as a young naive kid I was worried .
I must have really wanted to see this film ( at the time there was no video ) . cos after
about 15 mins we heard people having sex in the back seats .... every time somebody went
to the toilet there was a procession of raincoats following them ( I saw about 7 people going in )
no one came out ... I never went back even though they showed some really obscure
 horrors .

NAKED ENGLAND (X) (Vittorio Sisti 1969 It)  documentary with commentary by Edmund Purdom
 87mins (cut from 108 !)

I bet the entire sequence of the heroin addicts in London is missing from this version of the English language print.

I have never seen this mondo , John Trevalyan seemed to have a real down on drug
usage in films ( I think the film " Chappaqua " was a cause celebre , another heroin use
film.  I have some more stuff to add to Late night films .....
