Dino De Laurentiis RIP
« on: 11 Nov 2010 - 14:59 »

He produced many of my favourite films -  a sad day, though he was 91, so he had a good innings.

RIP.

Will this mean all those films sat in the vaults like Banditi a Milano might have a chance of being released or does it make things worse?

I suppose it depends on which company that released the film. Paramount really doesn;t seem to care about its deepest catalogue titles.

Which is a crying shame, I'm surprised we even got Diabolik.

Well Banditi and Io Ho Paura are both Paramount...

SICILIAN CHECKMATE
Great film, and I'm not normally into courtroom dramas.

A bonafide classic and still one of my favorite films after all these years.

A legend indeed! Sad to hear he is gone. I am eternally grateful for FLASH GORDON (1980), which was one of the very first non-animated film I ever watched. I absolutely loved it and watched over and over again, and it remains a nostalgic favorite to this very day.

RIP Dino, and thanks for all the great movies!

His public funeral and burial was today in downtown Los Angeles. I should have called in "sick" today to go, but I had to go to work, I'm sure the resulting crowding/parking/security would have been hell and I don't have any red-colored formal wear (they wanted mourners to dress in his favorite color and not black).
