Couldn't find much on the site about this one. I was curious to know what you guys thought about this one in general?.
I have a very nice looking print of 'Una Vita Lunga Un Giorno' but sadly it's in German only, so I've never been able to fully suss out the story is about. My understanding is that Mino Reitano is a down on his luck sailor who meets Ewa Aulin and swiftly falls in love with her (and let's face it, who wouldn't!?). She needs treatment for an illness and so to pay for it Mino goes to Philippe Leroy, a rich playboy millionaire, to strike up some sort of deal (the exact details of which I was unable to decipher). Things turn a bit sour and Leroy, with the help of Euro crime regular Luciano Catenacci and his henchmen in disguise, begin to hunt down Andrea (Mino Reitano) for reasons slightly unknown to me. There's quite a nice feeling of paranoia in the second half of the film where Andrea is having to be cautious of all manner of people in case they turn out to be connected to Leroy - cable car guides, taxi drivers, randy women in limo's - who all appear to pose a possible threat to him. This was probably the films strongest point. However, the action, when it eventually comes, is a little clunky and slightly unsatisfying. What the film does have going for it is a solid cast, outstanding score, the aforementioned scenes drenched in paranoia and an ample amount of nudity from Ewa Aulin, Eva Czemerys and various other scantily clad women at Leroy's swinging parties/orgies!.
What are your thoughts on Long Lasting Days / Una Vita Lunga un Giorno?

perhaps you just know Mino Reitano is one of the worst italian 'pop' singer

his legendary performance was some years ago on italian tv for the last day of the year show, he was on stage singing completely drunk, indecent  :-\

but this movie is good, and I remember that it has an excellent funky score, played by Reitano and his brother... when they were young

Thanks for that info Pollanet. Perhaps that explains why Mino looks so awkward in the fight scenes but also why it has a particulary outstanding soundtrack!

Excellent score and film, that scene when he goes to visit the gypsy woman with the talking parrot :-\
My copy is lbx and came from the Italian tv broadcast on the Odeon channel.
I'd love to see it in English sometime.

I like this movie, even if the story isn't that plausible...
I've got 2 copies (italian), one from Odeon tv source and the other from CSC; oddly, the better one is from Odeon tv...!

i like this somewhat "overlooked" movie...surely a reason is Ewa Aulin
the not exactly optimistic end with the discovery that the entire "adventure" of the male protagonist
(for the sake of love!)was little else than a farce is quite something.
Not sure if ewa aulin is that believable as the "cold bitch"  :(
but on the other hand this plays quite well as a "surprise" (indeed)..as it differs quite
from the stereotype of the "cutie honey"
i would have acted the same as mino... ;D

Ah ah you're sooo right... I would have given my left arm for a girl like Ewa in the 70's...  8)

The picture quality of the CSC print looks so much better than my copy of the Odeon broadcast.
