After watching Mark Gatiss' recent HISTORY OF HORROR series on telly I noticed that the guy who popped up in one of the episodes as Dracula and who was also a consultant on the show had written the book English Gothic: A Century of Horror Cinema, a book I'd seen around but had never purchased or had chance to read. Now I find myself wanting to own it, reviews for it are very good indeed. Has anyone on here got it?

I haven't but I own one of his other books, on Christopher Lee, and it's very good.  The reviews for ENGLISH GOTHIC that I've read (including a long rave in Video Watchdog) have been great.  I'd say go for it.

Recommended. A lot to get your teeth into. Clear and concise writing.
He's also done one on American Gothic, unsurprising titled 'American Gothic: Sixty years of Horror Cinema', which I've not yet got round to picking up...
