They have really upped their output over the last few years. I'll be picking this one up as I've missed out on the blood castle tape a few times.

The next batch of releases by Severin Films (out in October) includes Luigi Cozzi's The Black Cat, and Patrick Still Lives.

I haven’t seen Cozzi’s film for years, doubtful that a nice HD presentation can save it though. Patrick should be good though, I’ll definitely be picking up a copy of that.

Weren't there interviews on the old dvd of PATRICK (Shriek Show?) that have not been ported over for the Severin release? Or am I mixing it up with BURIAL GROUND? Would hate to lose those as I think they featured Mariangela Giordano and the producer.

I admit I have a soft spot for Cozzi's work.  ;D
And, the only time I saw this film, it was such a poor quality tape I could barely see a thing, so I look forward to revisit it in the future.  :-\

I remember Luigi Cozzi telling me that I shouldn't watch it... that's how proud of the film he was  ::)

Really???  :-\

On a side note, I thought this year was going to be the year when I finally paid a visit to the Profondo Rosso shop, and get to talk with him for a bit, but sadly, it was not to be.  ???

Vinegar Syndrome just announced part of their November slate, and they are releasing a second Gialli boxset, featuring French Sex Murders, My Dear Killer, and The Girl in Room 2A.

To quote the details on their website:

«Last, for now, is our long anticipated second Giallo collection, this time featuring a trio of never on Blu and long OOP on DVD early 70s, all Italian, slasher-esque gialli, headlined by Ferdinando Merighi’s impressively sleazy and gory FRENCH SEX MURDERS, presented in its never-on-disc French version (restored from the camera negative!), which includes extensive extra nudity that’s only ever been available in low grade VHS rips. Then Tonino Valerii’s satisfyingly violent MY DEAR KILLER, in a new 4K restoration of its original negative, and lastly a rare example of a giallo directed in Italy - by an American, with William L. Rose’s ultra trashy THE GIRL IN ROOM 2A, presented in its extended Italian cut newly restored from its original negative!»
