Cracking film. Still got my MGM pre-cert and the TCM broadcast...going to have to splash out for this. Still wish they'd release it "properly" though i.e. not a DVD-R.

Found this on a website called Oldies.com for $14.99 + $6.99 shipping to UK. Couldn't wait any more for it to be listed on Amazon.co.uk and for around £13.50 it was too tempting to pass up.

You can probably take my opinion on the print of the Warner Archive disc with a pinch of salt, as I never seem to see half the problems people complain about when it comes to image quality, but I thought Sitting Target looked pretty damn good. There were some marks on the print as you would expect & maybe a couple of the very dark scenes were a bit difficult to make out, but over all I am very pleased with it. A few basic screengrabs taken with VLC (which may contain spoilers):

Just watched the Warner Archives DVD. This is the second time I have seen the film and it blew me away again. As Mark said, the print used for the DVD is scratched but it just adds to the charm of the film. The pace of the film is relentless and the ending is perfect. It deserves so much more than a DVD-R.

By chance found a Spanish copy on eBay yesterday. Ordered it (from a UK seller) and it arrived this morning...



It's a 2013 release, is widescreen and can be played in either English or spanish. It has optional Spanish subs and the original trailer, in English (without subs). It's 1.85:1, anamorphic and looks fine on my laptop, will try and watch over the weekend and report back about how it plays on a larger screen.

I'm quite stoked to have found this  :-X
