A fantastic piece of cinema.

Oliver Reed and Ian McShane play two hardened criminals who are serving long prison sentences in a Liverpool prison. Reed's wife (played by Jill St.John) visits him to tell him she wants a divorce and is pregnant by another man. Overcome by anger he wants to kill her.

 Reed and McShane escape and head back down to London with a little help from a bribed prison guard and a fellow prisoner and then the rampage begins!!!!

This is Reed at his hardest, why this hasn't been released on dvd is anyone's guess.

also starring Edward Woodward, Frank Finlay and Freddie Jones (...and Dot from Eastenders  ;D)

Strange isn't it?
I remember watching it a year or 2 back on one of the free sat movie channels where it used to pop up on a regular basis.

TCM? I've got an off-air recording from there, along with a back-up from the original Pre-Cert MGM VHS I used to have.

I've got the soundtrack of this on CD - great stuff.

Been wanting to see the film for years, but it's never on normal TV (don't have satellite) and don't want to buy a shitty full-frame transfer off eBay.
